Why We Hid the Best Part of the Obsidian Executioner’s Skirt in the Back
We deliberately put the strongest visual moment of the Obsidian Executioner where the audience could not see it at first.
From the front, the Mesh-Front Fringe Pencil Skirt reads almost severe: black base, tonal mesh, long fringe. The Eyes of Hell artwork lives across the back, which meant the garment only fully made sense after the turn.

The Mesh-Front Fringe Pencil Skirt uses a black knee-length base, tonal mesh across the front and long black fringe running from both side seams beyond the hem. From the front, the look reads controlled and severe. In profile, the fringe begins to move. Only when Andreya turns does the full graphic statement appear: Eyes of Hell artwork across the back.
The back was the payoff

That placement made the turn essential to seeing the full printed image. The skirt was never meant to be understood from a single angle because the reveal itself was one of the design elements.
Read the front and back photographs together: mesh and fringe register first, then the Eyes of Hell artwork on the back comes into view. The images make the delayed reveal clear.
Andreya Taylor’s runway presence made the front-to-back contrast legible. She also served as Senior Runway Consultant and Model Coach and constructed our design for this garment to bring it to the runway.
