A special message from our founder, Ayanna Ali (Artist)
“I just want to take a moment to thank all of our customers and supporters. It brings me so much joy looking back at these photos of great memories and I’m pleased to share them with you. Two and a half years ago in 2018, with the support of my family, I launched my website AyannaAli.com and my popup shop business as a way to get more exposure for my artwork and help me save money for college. I was 15 years old aspiring artist, a new to Washington from Alabama and it was also a way for me to meet new people. When I started, I could have never imagined all the incredible people I would meet and places this journey would lead me. In January 2020, we rebranded to become Alter Ego Expressions and although the brand evolved, our customer base has remained loyal and for that I’m truly thankful. Now that I’m a Senior (Class of 2021🎓), soon I’ll be applying to colleges and I can’t believe I’ll be graduating this Spring! Hopefully headed to art school next fall but I realize none of it would be possible without the many lessons learned and all the amazing support I’ve received along the way; especially from the Seattle, WA community.
Living in the new reality of life during COVID-19 has put in perspective for me how truly special it was to get a chance to meet, laugh and chat in person with so many of our customers. We may not know when or if things will return as they were but one thing is for sure is this too will pass. Until we meet again, take care, stay well, and thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Ayanna”
