Collection: Tapestries
Wear the Art or Hang the Art.
What size are the tapestries?
Our tapestries measure 50 × 50 inches. These dimensions apply to tapestries, not rugs in this collection.
Do they have rod pockets or come with hanging hardware?
No. Our tapestries have no rod pockets, and hanging hardware is not included. Purchase suitable hooks and fabric clips separately.
Giving your tapestry a place on the wall? Removable wall hooks and fabric clips offer a simple way to display it without making nail holes.
What you’ll need
- Removable adhesive hooks suitable for your wall surface and the tapestry’s weight
- Smooth, padded curtain clips with rings or loops that fit over the hooks
- Measuring tape and a level
How to hang it
- Choose your spot. Find a dry location away from direct sunlight, heaters, and open flames. Check your lease for any restrictions on adhesive hangers.
- Plan the placement. Lay the tapestry flat. Position clips evenly along the top hem, including near each corner. Use enough support to prevent the fabric from pulling or sagging between clips.
- Test the clips. Try one on a discreet section of the hem first. Avoid sharp teeth or clips that leave marks, snag, or distort the fabric.
- Install the hooks. Match their spacing to the clips. Follow the hook manufacturer’s directions for cleaning the wall, installation, weight limits, and waiting time before hanging.
- Hang and adjust. Slip the clip rings over the hooks. Let the tapestry drape naturally, without stretching it tight. If the hem pulls or the clips slip, take it down and adjust the support.
Protect the fabric
Keep tape, glue, and adhesive strips off the tapestry itself. Avoid pushpins, nails, and other fasteners that pierce the fabric.
When it’s time to move
Remove the tapestry and clips first. Follow the hooks’ removal directions carefully. For stretch-release adhesive hooks, slowly pull the release tab straight down along the wall.
Rental-friendly doesn’t guarantee damage-free removal. Wall condition, paint, and correct installation all affect the result. If your walls aren’t suitable for adhesive hooks, consider hanging the tapestry with clips from an existing curtain rod rated for the added weight.
How should I care for my tapestry?
Hand wash only. Follow your tapestry’s product-specific care instructions; listings generally also advise against dry cleaning and tumble drying.
